Oxalic Acid Fumigation

Instructions

If screened bottom board, close the bottom with the slide in board.

Place one scoop of acid in the heater pan.

Place pan in center of hive through the hive entrance (must be on the 7/8^th in. width).

If using provided slide in bottom, place heater in the cut out area.

Block the hive entrance with a towel to keep fumes in.

Plug heater in and switch it on. Heat for 60-70 seconds.

Turn heater off and leave it in the hive for 3 minutes.

Remove the heater BUT leave the hive closed up for 7 more minutes.

Be setting the heater up for the next hive.

While second hive is fumigating, open first hive and move towels to third hive.

Repeat until done.

Note: after a few hives you may want to cool the heater pan off. Dip the heater head (only up to the pan) into some water. Don’t submerge the entire electrical components.

Note: After use, clean the pan with soapy water and a small tooth brush after use. This will remove any remaining acid and prevent corrosion.
